The PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle course is available to anyone 12 years or older who holds a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver certification.

Description
For those who dive, underwater vehicles (DPVs) offer an exciting way to explore a vast area in a short amount of time. They transport you through the water, allowing you to glide over reefs, have fun around a wreck, or zigzag through a kelp forest. Whether you dive from the shore or a boat, a DPV is a fantastic way to explore and have more fun. If you are 12 years old or older and at least a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver, you can enroll in the PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle course.
Academic Path
The PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle course helps you choose the right vehicle for you. You will make two dives and learn:
- How to care for your underwater vehicle
- How to plan dives, including procedures to stay together with your buddy
- Skills to use your vehicle: for example, how to correctly descend and ascend
- Potential problems and how to handle them
Get credit! The first dive of this PADI Specialty Diver course can be credited as an Adventure Dive for your Advanced Open Water Diver certification. Contact us now for more information.
Equipment You Will Use
Of course, in addition to your basic equipment, you will need an underwater vehicle. If you already own a DPV, your instructor will have you use it during the course. Otherwise, you can rent one from our Underwater Academy center at a special price reserved only for those participating in this fantastic course.
