Do you want to learn how to best support a dive buddy with physical or mental limitations? The PADI Adaptive Support Diver course will increase your awareness of the diverse abilities of divers and explore adapted techniques to apply when diving or freediving with a disabled buddy.

The course is open to PADI Open Water Divers or PADI Freedivers who are at least 15 years old and have completed an Emergency First Response course within the last 24 months. It is recommended to complete the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy course beforehand for better trim awareness.

Description:

Do you want to become a safe and competent support diver for buddies with physical or mental limitations? The PADI® Adaptive Support Diver course is the ideal choice for you. You will increase your awareness of the diverse abilities of divers, learning adapted techniques for scuba diving and freediving with disabled buddies.

PADI Open Water Divers or PADI Freedivers who are at least 15 years old, with an Emergency First Response course completed within the last 24 months, can enroll in the course. We highly recommend completing the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy course beforehand to improve your trim awareness.

Academic Path:

Through theoretical instruction and two diving workshops – one in confined water and one in open water – you will learn essential techniques to become an excellent diving buddy for divers with disabilities.

What You Will Learn:

- How to increase your awareness and attention to specific personal needs when diving with people with disabilities.

- Adapted techniques for safely diving with buddies who have physical and/or mental limitations.

Equipment:

In addition to your basic scuba or freediving gear, your PADI instructor might suggest additional equipment to better meet the specific needs of your buddy.
